Your journey begins at Masseria Casale del Murgese, just 15 km from Monopoli.
The nearest train station is Fasano—if you’re arriving by train from Rome or Bari, it’s the stop just after Monopoli. A short 5-minute shuttle from Fasano brings you to the hotel, where we’ll be ready to greet you. Should you wish to arrive a day early, consider our optional extension with a night in historic Monopoli, where you can stroll to charming restaurants and lively cafés.

Day 1 · Savelletri di Fasano

We’ll meet at our first hotel at 2 p.m., where your guides will assist with bike fitting.
Today’s ride is a scenic loop to Egnazia, a former Roman port city dating back to the 5th century. Discover remnants of the ancient Roman road, a striking acropolis, and other ruins, and enjoy a guided visit to the local museum.
Afterwards, take a refreshing dip in the hotel’s pool and join us for a welcome wine reception before dinner.

Ride distance: 20 km with 53 m gain or 30 km with 130 m gain

Today offers a choice of routes, all beginning in the historic coastal town of Monopoli. Explore its vibrant fishing port, 16th-century castle, and charming old town filled with local shops and eateries.
A shorter option winds west through quiet villages, with a lunch stop at one of our favourite local restaurants. For those seeking a longer route with moderate hills, head towards Polignano a Mare and/or Conversano—both known for their rich history and outstanding cuisine.
Dinner tonight is at a popular seafood restaurant beloved by locals.

Ride distance: 50 km (400 m gain), 64 km (500 m gain), or 78 km (570 m gain)

Today we cycle to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Alberobello, home to over 1,500 iconic trulli—whitewashed stone huts with conical roofs. We’ll meet a local guide for an insightful walking tour followed by lunch.
The short route leads directly to Locorotondo, known as the “Balcony of the Itria Valley” for its panoramic views. Sample local white wines at the Cantina Sociale, featuring over 1,000 vintners.
A longer route takes in the scenic Bosco delle Pianelle Nature Reserve.
Tonight we dine at a beloved local trattoria—try the house-made pennette with spicy tomato sauce, or grilled lamb chops with cheese and wild herbs.

Ride distance: 42 km or 65 km

Begin the day with a ride to Martina Franca, an elegant town with Baroque piazzas, winding alleyways, and ancient stone walls. You’ll pass through peaceful olive groves and vineyards, with a stop in Cisternino for lunch or coffee in one of its excellent cafés.
We finish in Ostuni, the famed “White City” whose Moorish-style architecture and maze-like streets were built to confound invaders.
This evening, take part in a hands-on cooking class at a local restaurant—and enjoy the fruits of your labour at dinner.

Ride distance: 36 km or 64 km

We begin with a local train transfer to Squinzano, then set off along the shimmering Adriatic coast. Stop for lunch in the beachside town of San Foca before continuing to Otranto—the easternmost point in Italy.
Rich in Greek, Byzantine, Roman, and Aragonese heritage, Otranto is a true gem of the region.
Our hotel, Masseria Bandino, lies just outside town and features extensive grounds and a large pool.
Dinner tonight is at your leisure—Otranto offers an abundance of excellent restaurants to explore.

Ride distance: 70 km (flat)

We’ve saved the best for last: a stunning coastal ride to Santa Cesarea Terme, a tranquil retreat with dramatic cliffs and graceful 19th-century villas. There are ample opportunities to swim along the way.
Adventurous cyclists may choose to continue all the way to Santa Maria di Leuca at the tip of Italy’s “heel” for a century ride.
Prefer to return early? You can visit the impressive Castello Aragonese in Otranto or unwind by the pool.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy a wine tasting led by a local sommelier, followed by a celebratory farewell dinner at the hotel.

Ride distance: 34 km, 60 km, or 100 km

We provide a morning shuttle to Lecce train station, arriving by 10 a.m. for your onward travel.

Please note: Ride distances and elevation may vary slightly depending on hotel selections for your departure.
