With its quiet, winding roads lined by lavender fields, vineyards that produce some of France’s finest wines, and cuisine that celebrates the bounty of the land, Provence is paradise for the passionate cyclist. Beginning in the historic village of Vaison-la-Romaine, our journey takes us through vibrant market towns, renowned wine villages, and beautifully preserved medieval cities. Along the way, we’ll sample wines in centuries-old caves, explore Roman ruins, visit hilltop castles, and wander through some of France’s most picturesque markets—from the antique stalls of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to local Provençal fairs. After 20 years of exploring this region, we can confidently say: there’s no place more welcoming to cyclists than Provence.Provence is a sensuous land of striking contrasts—aromatic lavender fields in vivid purples, golden sunflowers under vast blue skies, and a radiant light that has long inspired poets and painters. It’s this same light and energy that now draw cyclists to explore its dramatic landscapes and timeless villages.
Our journey begins in the medieval city of Uzès, winds through the storied streets of St. Rémy, and leads to the hilltop village of Gordes, a shimmering jewel in the Luberon.
