Tour Packages Overview
For any traveller with a passion for history, art, and culture, the Camino de Santiago is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable journeys in the world. Since the 10th century, pilgrims have travelled—on foot and now by bicycle—to experience the magic and mystery of this legendary route.
Cyclists can choose between a paved or off-road trail as the Camino weaves its way across northern Spain. The landscapes are awe-inspiring, and the path is dotted with historical landmarks, cultural treasures, and welcoming villages.
If you have the time, we highly recommend our Expedition Route—a truly transformative experience. For those seeking a shorter option, our Escape Route beginning in León offers a more compact yet equally rewarding adventure.
Whichever journey you choose, you’ll enjoy carefully selected accommodation—from traditional inns to luxurious paradors—ensuring comfort, authenticity, and a true taste of Spanish hospitality.

Your cycling tour begins in Figueres. Most guests stay in Barcelona the night before (see our ‘Extra’ section). You’ll need to catch the 8:20 a.m. train from Barcelona, arriving in Figueres by 10:12 a.m. This ensures a full day’s ride on Day 1.
Day 1 · Figueres
Welcome to Figueres, Salvador Dalí’s birthplace and your gateway to the stunning Alt Empordà. Expect smooth, traffic-free roads, beautiful scenery, and charming villages. Our first ride heads towards Pont de Molins, past the Castell de les Escaules, and near Terrades. An optional loop includes Darnius and the Pantà de Boadella reservoir. We’ll conclude with a welcome reception and dinner at a popular local restaurant, close to your hotel.
- Distance: 48 km (590m elevation gain) or 60 km (750m elevation gain)
Day 2 · Figueres
Today, cycle to Peralada, a charming wine town. Explore its historic centre, visit the 12th-century Romanesque cloister, or enjoy a wine tasting at the Celler Peralada. Continue to Roses, a beachside spot perfect for a swim or coffee. Ride through Empuriabrava (with its unique waterways) and the Aiguamolls d’Empordà bird sanctuary. Lunch awaits in Castell d’Empúries, a Catalan gem.
For a longer ride, extend to Cadaqués, an unspoilt, remote village with crystal-blue waters and whitewashed houses.
Back in Figueres, we’ll take an expert-guided tour of the Dalí Museum. The day finishes with dinner at a traditional asador restaurant, a favourite of Dalí’s.
- Distance: 50 km (270m elevation gain) or 88 km (1,390m elevation gain)
Day 3 · Calella de Palafrugell
Head south from Figueres, cycling past the Empúries archaeological site and along a scenic coastal path (with a possible swim stop). Ride through medieval Torroella de Montgrí, admiring its castle ruins. Lunch is at an atmospheric restaurant in Palau-Sator before reaching Calella de Palafrugell. Our superb hotel, the San Roc, offers sublime dining on its terrace overlooking the beach.
- Distance: 44 km (170m elevation gain) or 72 km (380m elevation gain)
Day 4 · Calella de Palafrugell
Today offers some of the trip’s most stunning views between Calella and Begur (expect short, steep sections). Explore medieval Begur (with its castle) and enchanting Pals. Back in Calella, consider a short stroll (1.9 km) to Cap Roig castle and gardens. Alternatively, enjoy a longer coastal hike from the hotel, exploring villages and beaches on foot. At 4 p.m., tennis players can join a tournament at Llafranc tennis centre, followed by tapas for dinner.
- Cycling Distance: 44 km (820m elevation gain)
- Optional Hiking Distance: 12.3 km (380m elevation gain) or 1.9 km (200m elevation gain)
Day 5 · Girona
Cycle to Girona, a city favoured by pro cyclists for its climate and food. En route, visit the castle Dalí and Gala built in Púbol, and have lunch before a gentle climb over Mare de Déu dels Àngels. Descend into Girona for a walking tour of its treasures. Dinner is at your leisure, with options from Michelin-starred dining (like Normal, by the Roca brothers) to local eateries.
- Distance: 40 km (460m elevation gain) or 88 km (760m elevation gain)
Day 6 · Girona
Choose from moderate or challenging rides northwest of Girona. Enjoy a post-ride lunch at Café Fábrica, owned by former pro cyclist Christian Meier. There’s an optional tennis game at 4 p.m. Our final night includes a memorable wine tasting, followed by dinner at our favourite Girona restaurant.
- Distance: 52 km (555m elevation gain) or 75 km (900m elevation gain)
Day 7 · Depart
